Feenix was launched in June 2017 as a response to the #FeesMustFall movement that spread across campuses in South Africa during 2015 and 2016. This movement highlighted the extremely high cost of tertiary education and the impact financial stress has on student success rates.Feenix is a crowdfunding platform that connects student communities with funders to enable equitable access to education funding. Feenix started as a response to the #FeesMustFall Movement and was launched on the 5th of June 2017. Feenix is a forward-thinking edtech NGO and start-up. Feenix seeks to appoint a Business Partnership Coordinator to be based in Johannesburg.

The Role:

We are looking for a Business Partnership Coordinator to implement the Feenix corporate strategy in Gauteng/North West/Limpopo and Mpumalanga and ensure we increase funding for our students from high-value funding streams. This role will work closely with the Resource Mobilisation Manager and will be expected to innovate partnership and sales strategies according to changes in relevant legislation (including tax and BBBEE), market trends, best practices and other industry players. this role is expected to operate remotely.

Reports to: Resource Mobilisation Manager

Level: Mid-level

Employment Type: Full time

Remuneration: Between R276,000 – R336,000 per annum

Requirements:

Post matric qualification or equivalent (certificates and/or evidence of additional technical fundraising or business development training is ideal)
5+ years sales/business development/fundraising/prospecting/communication 
Experience with stakeholder management
Track record in achieving income targets over ZAR 5 million per annum
Must have your own car and a valid South African driver’s license

Personality:

Strongly believes in the importance of equitable access to education
Excellent communicator (both verbal and written)
Passionate about people and easily engages with a diverse set of people
Gets excited about different sales strategies and approaches
Can work independently but is ultimately a team player
