Job Title : Business Operations Analyst (Paterson Grade C).

JOB PURPOSE
The Position is based in Operations support reporting to Head of Operations. Operations Analyst conducts operational analyses; analyses operation support functions, Processing functions as well as customer service centre functions along with related governing processes to discover inefficiency/waste which must be eliminated to improve efficiency and overall profitability of the business. The incumbent must create a detailed business operational analysis, outlining problems, opportunities and solutions for processing or business. The position develops and monitors data quality metrics and ensures business data and reporting needs are met.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Requirement Gathering & Analysis: Collaborates with business stakeholders to identify, document, and analyse business requirements, processes, and workflows.
- Process Improvement: Evaluates current banking operations, identifies inefficiencies, and recommends process enhancements for improved productivity and compliance.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyses financial and operational data to provide insights that support business decisions. Creates reports, dashboards, and presentations for management.
- Project Coordination: Works closely with IT teams, developers, and third-party vendors to ensure business requirements are translated into functional solutions.
- Regulatory & Compliance Alignment: Ensures business processes and solutions comply with banking regulations, risk management policies, and industry standards.
- Testing & Validation: Develops test cases, assists in user acceptance testing (UAT), and validates that solutions meet business needs before deployment.
- Stakeholder Communication: Acts as a liaison between business units, IT, and executive leadership, facilitating effective communication and expectation management.
- Technology Implementation: Supports the adoption of new banking technologies, including digital banking solutions, CRM systems, and core banking applications.
- Performs financial and operational modelling, drives fresh initiatives for financial planning and business intelligence systems,
- Discovers inefficiencies/waste in an existing process and determines ways that could lead to improvement and then ensure implementation of suggested change.
- Maintains cost efficiency, implements, and monitors all controllable expenses such as stationary, travel, communication etc., and suggests possible ways of reducing the costs.
- Manages risk by monitoring reports, including revenue leakage, within expected timeframes, identifies potential risks and takes corrective action to ensure risk compliance.
- Elicits process requirements and determines technology or information systems touch points and uses cases for process automation, customer experience and optimal use of information systems.
- Prepares annual plans and budgets for the Operations Department in accordance with LPB Strategy.
- Prepares Operations and management progress reports to inform management on business activities within the department.
Job Requirement
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage.
- 3-7 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in banking or financial services.
- Strong understanding of banking products, operations, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in business analysis tools (e.g., Microsoft Visio, Jira, Confluence) and data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Experience with Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies.
Preferred Certifications (Optional):
- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP)
- PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA)
- Agile Certification (Scrum Master, Product Owner)
