Position: Business Development Manager: Metropolitan Lesotho Assets Managers

1. Position Overview

To build an Institutional Investments business as well as retail offerings for Metropolitan Lesotho, including setting the strategic direction, staffing and management of the AMC team. In this role, the incumbent will be responsible for growing and managing Assets under Management and increasing gross and net margins in a sustainable manner.

Key Performance Indicators

– Devise strategies to grow a portfolio of assets and act as liaison with investors with the aim of exceeding growth targets.

– Growth in assets under management gross & net margin management and prudent cost management to deliver upon financial growth targets aligned to strategic objectives.

– Focus on the product solutionss and mix towards higher margin products as well as managing costs carefully through operational excellence.

– Assess the current client value proposition and strategy against institutional client needs.This would include an assessment of the revenue pools available and potential for Metropolitan Lesotho to increase market share in these.

– Ensure that there is a strong relationship and alignment between investment management professionals. product development including the retail and institutional teams

– Create greater brand awareness of Metropolitan Investments’solutions amongst prospective institutional clients.

– Build a strong and capable investment capability and team that can address the needs of future clients.

– Direct the development implementation and adherence to an organisationalrisk and governance management model that positions the organisation optimally in the relevant legal social political economic and ethical contexts in which it operates.

Experience/Requirements

– An appropriate tertiary qualification e.g. B.Comm in Economics, Finance and Investment Management or equivalent. Post graduate degree and or CFA would be an added advantage

– At least 4 years ofinstitutional Investment experience 3 or more years of managing teams

– Must have a solid, in depth understanding of the business environment, processes legislative and industry requirements.

The successful candidate must be a Mosotho.

The candidate appointed in this position must be independent and not have any direct shareholding in

any shareholder interests in the company or subsidiary companies or must relinquish such shareholding.

The candidate must meet all regulatory requirements

– Proven and credible track record in the investment Creative problem solverenvironment.

– Ability to influence and build strong relationships with key decision-makers

– Results driven.

– Well networked and connected within pension funds market.

– Excellent interpersonal skills

– Proven track record of sales success.

– Very good understanding of the various capabilities within the investment environment as well as the enabling capabilities to these
