Introduction
An opportunity exists to join this Investor in People Company in the above capacity. Metropolitan Lesotho is a wholly owned subsidiary of Momentum Metropolitan Group, a company registered on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. We are currently looking for a dynamic and self-motivated individual in the position of Business Development Manager based in Maseru, Lesotho. The incumbent will report directly to the Head of Corporate Distribution.
Role Purpose
- To ensure business growth through business development activities in the employee benefits market in accordance with the organizational strategy.
- To work closely with administrators, brokers, consultants, prospects, and clients in attracting, retaining, and growing new and existing business.
- To plan, direct, and manage business development and client’s management activities.
Requirements
- B.Comm Degree in Investment/Banking/Financial Economics OR
- A relevant postgraduate business qualification (MBA, MBL)
- COP/CFA/CPP will be an added advantage
- 5 years + experience, suited to a seasoned employee benefit specialist with a strong track record within Corporate Business Development and client management in the Insurance and Pension Industry
- Demonstrated excellence in the field of business development as well as strong knowledge in pension funds and insured employee benefits
- A sound understanding of the dynamics around the employee benefits needs, product distribution, product development and pricing and the ever changing legal and regulatory environment
- Demonstrated expertise in the building, growing, and servicing a business
Duties & Responsibilities
Employee benefits sales, business development and client management
- Initiate contact with potential and current customers to generate and qualify leads, promote the company’s products and services, and identify sales opportunities.
- Provide feedback on market trends, competitive threats, unmet needs, and opportunities.
- Manage all aspects of relationships with existing clients, including co-ordination and presentation of administration and investment reports.
- Liaise with client services and compliance teams internally on reporting and mandates and management of the on-going relationships through regular meetings.
- Co-ordinate RFP process supported by the Business Development team. This will include the support and oversight of the preparation of the RFP documents, due diligences, and terms negotiation.
- Provide regular reporting on activities, new sales opportunities, client focus and product initiatives to the management team.
- Maintain involvement in industry, brokers, and employee benefits consultants to foster relationships.
- Conduct all sales activities with the highest degree of professionalism and integrity, in line with Metropolitan values.
