STANLIB Lesotho has an exciting opportunity for a professional with a sound business acumen and a proven sales track record within a target-driven environment, to join the management team as Business Development Manager (BDM).

Our purpose

New business development (acquisition of new clients and development of business pipeline), gathering of cash assets, and client relationship management with a view to grow and retain a portfolio of high value corporate and institutional clients in order to grow the STANLIB Lesotho AUM

Key responsibilities

·Drive profitable growth in new business and sales

·Develop a sales strategy and client engagement plan for corporate and institutional market segments to maximize revenue and earnings

·Proactively develop business pipeline to grow assets under management through direct marketing, marketing presentations, written proposals and other relevant sales and marketing tactics

·Manage sales and client service in corporate and institutional segments

·Identify and manage leads generated from internal and group sources

·Develop and execute an aggressive high-value corporate and institutional client acquisition, relationship management and retention programme

·Provide investment and financial management advice to existing clients

·Mine and analyze customer data to identify expansion, customer value-add and cross-sell opportunities

·Stay abreast of industry matters – fund performance, legislation etc

Qualifications

·B comm (Economics, Investment Management or Portfolio Management) Degree

·Relevant post graduate qualification and/or CFP, CFA, or MBA qualification will be an added advantage

Experience

·Minimum Minimum 5 years relevant working experience in financial services industry

·3 years plus sales management experience (preferable)

·Corporate/Institutional sales experience (advantageous)

·General industry (investment/asset management) knowledge Knowledge and understanding of the range of insurance products and services available in the market.

·Strong desire to achieve and an ability to work independently with minimal supervision

·Must possess outstanding business communication and presentation skills
