Job Purpose

  • To obtain new business for VAF and nurture relationships with clients and suppliers.
  • To develop meaningful relationships with key sales staff within Corporate and Investment Banking and  Business Banking to ensure that VAF services these markets.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

Operate within agreed Turn Around Times in delivering service to clientsMeet all sales targets as per sales budgetAchieve set sales volumes against the budgetAttend CIB and BB Client Service Team.Prepare CIB and BB customers contract.Follow a structured customer calling programmeConduct interviews with customers applying for finance in an effective and professional mannerAttend to customer enquiries relative to asset financeBe constantly aware of opportunities for new business and to follow up business which might be lost to other bank e.g.. request for references, request for settlementsNurture relationships with dealerships to optimize sales opportunities as well as customersDevelop meaningful relationships with key sales staff within Corporate and Investment Banking and Business Banking to ensure that VAF services these markets.Report on market trends development.Analyse and interpret financial statementsPrepare of applications for credit and general assessmentProvide support to Consultants/Managers, New Business by attending to the administrative duties relevant to new dealsCompile month end reports and statistics on the branch performanceEnsure accuracy and completeness of documentation and compliance to procedures to minimize possible financial loss.Ensure that assets financed by the bank are adequately protected by means of insurance cover and their VAF accounts debited with premiums and letters written to customers and employersEnsure prudent application of new business margins to maximize returnsEnsure Operational risk losses are kept to a minimum levelAccurately complete and monthly reporting including oversight of all business-related reconciliations.Be the business unit representative on governance forumsFacilitate the loading and maintenance of deals on the Finacle leasingActs as co-custodian of Reserve Stock Blank Forms (Bank Cheques)Ability to manage the team and being able to manage the external stakeholders.

Preferred Qualification and Experience

  • Bcom degree in Financial or Business Management or equivalent. Post Graduate degree in related field will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 5 years banking experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory level.
  • Valid driver’s Licence.
