Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bursar / Finance Officer to oversee our financial operations and ensure sound fiscal management. This role requires a visionary leader and team player with strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to institutional growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the college’s financial resources, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and procurement processes
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, audit requirements, and institutional policies
- Prepare financial statements and annual budgets
- Lead the development of funding proposals for various departments
- Advise college leadership on financial planning and risk management
- Supervise finance and accounting staff
- Liaise with government agencies and other stakeholders
- Handle student finance-related matters
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Master’s degree and/or professional certification (e.g., ICAN, ACCA, CPA) is an advantage
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in financial management, preferably in an educational or public sector setting
- Basic knowledge of procurement systems is an added advantage
- Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and advanced Excel skills
- Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills
- High integrity and attention to detail
