2. Knowledge, Skills, and experience

2.1      The minimum education requirement is a Grade 12 certificate or equivalent.

2.2      Must have a minimum of 5 years working experience within the Airline/Travel Industry.

2.3      Must have excellent customer service skills.

2.4      Managerial experience would be advantageous.

2.5      Should be able to work under pressure and work flexible hours.

2.6      Must have good knowledge of Departure Control System.

3.      Accountabilities

3.1.    Accountable for correct management of entire branch.

3.2.    Must ensure subordinates operate within regulatory procedures.

3.3.    Accountable to ensure all regulatory and standard operating procedures

          within scope of responsibility are practiced within the context of the job.

3.4.    The employee shall be accountable for ensuring operations are conducted

          in accordance with applicable regulations and standards of the Operator

          and within the confines of the AOC and relevant operational specifications.

3.5.    Responsible for the OHS in their area of responsibility and accountability

          reporting into this role.

3.6    Accountable for the management of safety risks and security threats to

          aircraft operations.

2.7      Must be computer literate on Microsoft Excel and Word.

2.8      Will attend training as and when required to do so.

4.      RESPONSIBILITIES

4.1      Responsible for the profitability and general management of the branches within the constraints of company policy.

4.2      To determine the optimum use of available resources to meet the targets laid down.

4.3      Responsible for the overall functioning of the branch under his/ her control.

4.4      Responsible for reports as required by regional manager.

4.5      Responsible for all aspects of daily operations at the branch, including ground operations, safety, staff, passenger handling, administration, airport matters and local Public Relations.

4.6      To determine the optimum use of available resources to meet the targets laid down.

4.7      Responsible for addressing any passenger complains and personnel grievances.

4.8      Responsible for addressing any matters regarding baggage complaints.

4.9      Responsible for the accurate management of petty cash monies.

4.10   Responsible to ensure that the company’s policies and procedures are adhered to as laid down.

4.11   Responsible for the branch budget.

4.12   Responsible for the management of services providers and recovery of punitive costs, if any.

4.13   Responsibilities must be carried out in accordance with Company Standards as laid out in the manuals of procedure, and Occupational Health and Safety Standards.

4.14   Will assist with any additional tasks within the context of the job description.
