An opportunity exists for a Booth Supervisor to join our Lesotho Branch.

The purpose of this position is to oversee the effective functioning of the Lesotho Booths and Agents.

The Booth Supervisor reports directly to the Country Manager.

This position is responsible for overseeing the functioning of all Mukuru Booths and Agents based in Lesotho to ensure they are functioning optimally and in accordance with regulations. This position is also responsible for ensuring world class customer service is delivered. The agents in the Booths report to this position.

Internal Liaison takes place with all internal Lesotho staff. External liaison takes place with customers.

Duties and Responsibilities (Include but is not limited to):

  • Manage the daily activities of the agents to ensure the effective running of Lesotho Booths
  • Investigate and report on unexplained and avoidable cash shortages
  • Conduct regular cash spot checks
  • Act as point of liaison in the event of a robbery, theft or fraud (report to the local police and process the documents for insurance claims (if applicable)
  • Ensure Mukuru Lesotho Booths are operating optimally and in compliance with internal and external regulations
  • Ensure world class customer service is delivered by all agents
  • Gauge customer satisfaction
  • Address any issues and customer complaints
  • Maintain good relations with site owners and local authorities
  • Carry out inspections on Booths to ensure they are running effectively
  • Monitor that agents are abiding by trading hours
  • Monitor the Lesotho market and gather market intelligence
  • Report and provide recommendations for business development opportunities
  • To conduct general people management functions to ensure the effective functioning of Lesotho Booths
  • Participate in recruitment processes for new agent staff
  • Ensure all agents are onboarded effectively
  • Train and coach agents
  • Manage the offboarding of agents
  • Create and submit all required reports
  • Monitor all agent activities in Lesotho and report on all relevant information
  • Report on potential security threats, make recommendations to address them and implement
  • To manage own professional and self-development

Key Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent (Essential)
  • Relevant degree/diploma (Desirable)
  • 2 years’ experience in a supervisory role in financial services environment (Essential)
  • Knowledge of foreign exchange
  • Knowledge of exchange control regulations
  • Knowledge of MLPCA regulations
  • Knowledge of money laundering
  • Knowledge of Booth management
  • Knowledge of HR principles
