Job Opportunity: Bookkeeper

Location: 397 Hilton Road, Maseru 100

Reporting to: Junior Financial Manager

Are you a detail-oriented finance professional looking to grow your career with a global leader? G4S Secure Solutions Lesotho is seeking a dedicated Bookkeeper to maintain complete and accurate accounting records in compliance with our company policies and procedures.

The successful incumbent is a self-starter with a proven track record in maintaining company policy, adopting best practices, and is able to exercise sound judgement in the pursuit of the achievement of the goals of the organisation, and understanding the role which the Bookkeeper plays within a successful business unit. The incumbent will be expected to be results driven and to live the values of the organisation

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will provide critical support to the finance department across several key areas:

  • Month-End Functions: Assist with journal preparations, review General Ledger (GL) postings, perform balance sheet reconciliations, and audit stock counts.
  • Accounts Receivable: Review revenue reconciliations, assist with AR aging cycles, and ensure the correct posting of withholding tax.
  • Purchasing & Payables: Conduct weekly reviews of Purchase Orders (POs) for proper account allocation and work with AP clerks to reconcile supplier accounts.
  • Taxation & Compliance: Maintain the withholding tax GL, assist in reconciling the VAT GL, and provide support during external audits.
  • Financial Accountability: Monitor site expenses (budget vs. actual), assist with forecasting, and review 12-month reports to ensure accurate accruals.

Minimum Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Lesotho Advanced Secondary Certificate (LASC) and relevant Tertiary Qualification in Finance
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of financial accounting or relevant experience.

Skills and Attributes

  • MS Office Computer skills (Excel Advanced) / Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs & Slides)
  • Strong knowledge of Revenue Service Lesotho (RSL)
