Mdzananda Animal Clinic is an NPO veterinary clinic and shelter in Mandela Park, Khayelitsha, Cape Town, serving the community and their pets for the past twenty-five years. We are looking for a bookkeeper with at least 2 to 3 years’ experience to join our team. In this position you will be dealing with the day-to-day accounting and office administration tasks.
Mdzananda Animal Clinic seeks to appoint a bookkeeper to be based in Cape Town.
You will be responsible for managing:
Payroll
Accounts payable and receivable
Bank and balance sheet reconciliations
Preparation and allocation of EFT payments
Creditor invoices and reconciliation of monthly creditor statements
Supervision and training of reception staff
Petty cash management
General ledger reconciliation
Analysis of bank receipts
Analysis of electronic receipts
Submission of EMP201 returns, EMP 501 reconciliation and COIDA returns
Review, preparation, and submission of VAT returns
Preparation of monthly Management reports
Board secretarial functions
General office administrative duties (Filing, responding to emails, managing stationary supplies, placing orders, answering calls, assisting with any administrative duties as required by management.)
Position requirements:
Bookkeeping or similar accredited qualification
Sage accounting
Working knowledge of the regulatory environment, including VAT, Payroll and Tax issues and have the ability to respond to any changes in these environments.
Moderate to Advanced Excel skills
Working knowledge of NPO legislation and DSD processes would be an advantage.
