Competence Requirements
Grade 12
1- 2 years boiler house experience in a heavy industry environment
A boiler certificate of competence will be considered advantageous
Computer Literacy
Output and Accountabilities
Record shift performance in the logbook, and conduct handover
Complete plant inspections and report any faults on work requests to maintenance.
Monitor water levels, steam temperature, pressure, load and efficiency of the boilers.
Complete soot blowing of boiler tubes.
Bank boilers when load is too low or when repairs are required
Take the boilers on or offline on instruction from boiler operator
Take responsibility for all boilers should the operators be called away from the plant.
Ensure housekeeping is maintained and health and safety policies and procedures are adhered too.
