Applications are now open for the 2024/2025 BGF Campaign French Government Scholarship.

The cooperation and cultural action service of the French Embassy offers scholarships for the Master’s degree (2 years). These scholarships are intended primarily for students enrolled in one of the 15 Malian public higher education establishments.

Outlines of the call for applications
This call for applications is aimed at students of public higher education establishments in Mali

  • The University of Sciences, Techniques and Technologies of Bamako (USTTB)
  • The University of Letters and Sciences Humanities of Bamako (ULSHB)
  • The University of Social Sciences and Management of Bamako (USSGB)
  • The University of Legal and Political Sciences of Bamako (USJPB)
  • The University of Ségou
  • The Ecole Normale Supérieure of Bamako (ENSup)
  • The Normal School of Technical and Vocational Education (ENETP)
  •  The Rural Polytechnic Institute of Training and Applied Research (IPR-IFRA)
  •  The Abderhamane-Baba-Touré National School of Engineers (ENI/ABT)
  • The Research and Development Center Training for the Textile Industry (CERFITEX),
  •  The National Institute for Training in Health Sciences (INFSS)
  • The National Institute for Training of Social Workers (INFTS)
  •  The National Institute for Youth and Sports (INJS) Higher School of Journalism and Communication Sciences (ESJSC)
  •   The Zayed Institute of Economic and Legal Sciences (IZSEJ).

Eligibility Requirements

Students must hold a Bachelor’s degree obtained in one of these establishments at the time of submitting the application and have a study project corresponding to one of the training courses described in this call.
Candidates registered in the first year of a master’s degree can also apply.
Successful candidates will benefit from a scholarship from the French government to pursue master’s studies (two years) in a higher education establishment.

* Training courses selected

The following sectors were identified taking into account the absence or weakness of training offers in these areas in Mali as well as the potential in terms of professional opportunities for graduates.
-  Environment and sustainable development  : ecological transition, water engineering and environment, agroecology, vulnerabilities and inequalities in access and use of natural resources.
-  Engineering Sciences and Technologies  : mechatronics, energy engineering, industrial engineering, food engineering.
-  Mathematics and computer science  : data science, telecommunications and networks, digital.
-  Management sciences  : business management and administration, entrepreneurship and project management, public management
-  Development  : gender study, urban development studies, population, foresight
Eligibility conditions
Students who meet the following criteria can apply:
– Be registered or graduated from one of the 15 establishments listed in this call
  Be of Malian nationality
  Be under 27 years old as of December 31, 2024
 Hold a Bachelor’s degree obtained in a Malian public higher education establishment
  Have a project of study in one of the chosen training courses

Benefits

The scholarship program covers:
-  Registration fees for the 2 years of the Master’s study cycle.
-  Social coverage and complementary health insurance.
-  Living expenses through the payment of a monthly allowance of 700 euros during the duration of the master’s degree (2 years).
-  A return ticket (departure and return at the end of the master).

Timeline:

The application procedure is 100% electronic and all documents constituting the application file must be sent to [email protected] . An acknowledgment of receipt will be sent upon receipt of each file.

  • January 22, 2024  : date of broadcast of the call for applications via the various networks;
  • January 30, 2024  : deadline for submitting application files (sending to the address indicated above)
  • January 30 to February 2, 2024  : analysis of files;
  • February 10, 2024  : publication of the list of preselected candidate
  • January 30 to February 2, 2024  : auditions of preselected candidates
  • February 20, 2024  : publication of the list of 2024 scholarship holders/ 2025
    => the selected candidates will be contacted by Campus France for the preparation of their administrative files.
  • Week of August 1, 2024  : “preparation for departure” workshops at the Espace Campus France.

Composition of the application file

The application file includes the following documents:
1. The application form (completed and signed)
2. Cover letter explaining the study project and the professional project
3. Curriculum vitae
 (in French)
4. The certificate and the Baccalaureate transcript
5. Copy of the last degree obtained from Bachelor or Master 1
6. A copy of the transcripts for all years of study after the baccalaureate.
7. Proof of identity  : copy of passport or Malian identity card
8. Copy of language level certificates, if applicable
9. A copy of birth certificate
