The key purpose of this role is to be responsible for overseeing the business management process and ensuring the business meets productivity goals and targets. BBP Manager is responsible for handling budgets and identify opportunities that would increase revenue resources and profits for the business.

Key Outputs and Responsibilities:

BUSINESS CYCLE

  • Provide strategic planning support by developing long term objectives and identify short term goals.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop a consolidated 3YP and 1YP.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify opportunities, trends and threats that could impact business success.
  • Manage and maintain a centralised repository of all business planning documents.
  • Develop and implement processes and tools to streamline and improve business planning activities.
  • Train and mentor team members on best practices for business planning.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and developments to inform business planning decisions.

ZBB AND COST CONTROL

  • Lead the ZBB planning and budgetary process
  • Put in place the cost control mechanism to ensure budget attainment
  • Monitor the spend and ensure costs are allocated correctly and relevant accruals are accounted for.
  • Attend to all audit queries relating to fixed costs
  • Clear of all ZBB accruals/provisions aging over +90days

CASH FLOW MANAGEMENT:

  • Review and release payments as the 1st signatory (Bank and mobile money)
  • Complete and present commentary packs and reconciliations
  • Liaise with Credit Manager, PPMs and Accounts payable to monitor and control Core Working Capital

MONTHLY CYCLE AND REPORTING:

  • Lead the Latest Estimate (LE) process and reporting for ZBB
  • Lead monthly ZBB review meetings with Cost Center Managers and senior management
  • Analyze the performance and prepare regular reports for Senior management on progress, risks and opportunities.
  • Track monthly ZBB, P&L and CF performance against PY, BU and LE and explain variance
  • Implement Zone requirement that may be adjusted from time to time
  • Support the preparation of AFSs
  • Perform internal control checks

Profile: Education

  • BComm. Degree in Accounting OR CIMA OR General Accountant/ Registered Accountant Certificate with at least 5 years of work experience at managerial role.

Experience

  • At least 5 years of work experience at managerial role.
  • 2-4 years’ experience within FMCG environment is preferred.
