Job Purpose

• Achieve sales targets and income budgets by promoting Bancassurance products to the bank’s Enterprise Direct Banking staff;
• Promoting business relationships with internal and external stakeholders,
• Provide technical product knowledge and insurance sales training, support and motivation.
• To ensure ongoing and successful sales and distribution of Insurance products through the branch network by upskilling the Enterprise Direct banking segment.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Achieve set monthly and yearly targets
  • Drive the set Bancassurance sales penetration targets into Enterprise Banking
  • Provide on-going Bancassurance products information to the Business Banking distribution network
  • Obtain on a weekly basis a pipeline of all Enterprise Banking deals at hand; submitted to Credit;Approvals
  • Prepare selling scripts for each product sold in ED and provide to ED team to use in selling insurance
  • Monitor motor comprehensive insurance quotations prepared by RM’s/AB’s to provide quality control and minimize leakage
  • Schedule and provide documented weekly coaching sessions with RM’s on how to sell; provide evidence of discussion topics, support provided/materials, method of delivery and sales feedback etc
  • Prepare daily sales tracking reports setting out the insurance sales of each RM/AB against the number of banking products sold
  • Hold weekly documented discussions with ED Manager/Team Leader to provide feedback on each RM’s/AB’s performance, identified gaps and steps to closure
  • Attend Business Banking/Bancassurance Customer Forums
  • Ensure that where customers have are unable to pay their premiums, that their loans are force debited,the premiums remitted to Underwriters and Cover Confirmations submitted to Credit Collateral.
  • Identify and action sales opportunities on all renewal business
  • Draw and send out monthly VAF renewal invitations monthly VAF renewal invitations 90 days in advance for renewal confirmation.
  • Maintain and update all finalized and upcoming renewals on the Bancassurance shared folder.
  • Provide a monthly VAF renewal penetration report
  • Ensure that Cover Notes are issued correctly and timeously.
  • Daily cover notes on Building/Stock/Vehicles to VAF/ED/Commercial banking as requested
  • Assisting the Bancassurance Manager with requests and projects on hand from time to time

Preferred Qualification and Experience

• Degree in Business Commerce or Marketing or related field
• Insurance qualification will be added advantage
• Minimum 4 years insurance experience in a Sales/Broking/Underwriting and 2 of which in a Supervisory role
• Competent technical knowledge of Short and Long Term Insurance
• Exposure to or knowledge of retail banking would be an advantage
• Driver’s License
