The Office of the Auditor-General (OAG) is an independent and autonomous body and is the Supreme Audit Institution in Lesotho. OAG is responsible for auditing government revenue and spending and to oversee the management of public funds and the quality and credibility of government’s reported financial data.
OAG invites applications from suitably qualified local candidates for the following positions:

CORE DESCRIPTION
The Auditor is responsible for assisting in the planning of an audit, evaluation of internal control systems and performance of transaction tests.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Collects, records and summarises secondary/primary data on assigned segments of an audit.
• Review, assess and recommend changes in accounting systems and controls of a business unit.
• Inspect transactions, documents, records, reports, methods for accuracy and effectiveness and obtain reliable and relevant evidence.
• Holds preliminary discussions of apparent deficiencies with operating personnel to verify and obtain explanations.
• Reports audit findings, conclusions and makes recommendations for the correction of unsatisfactory conditions, improvements in operations and reductions in cost.
• Assists in the performance of reviews at the request of management.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Masters degree in Business Administration, MSc. Accounting and Finance or any related field from a recognised institution
OR
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, BSc. Accounting and Finance, BCOMM, General Accountant or any other related field from a recognised institution.
EXPERIENCE
• At least four years’ experience as an Assistant Auditor.
