NetHope is rolling out two initiatives:
- Phase 1 – AI Skilling Course (June to August) – A course to help nonprofit professionals better understand the opportunities and implications of Artificial Intelligence in their work. The course is open to nonprofits globally, with a target of 300 participants in the first phase and a broader outreach strategy for rolling admission throughout 2025.
- Phase 2 – Localization Campaign (September to October) – Audience acquisition for digital services targeting local, national, and regional organizations.
To support these efforts, we are seeking a consultant to lead audience acquisition, ensuring strong participation in both initiatives. This is not a general marketing or communications role; it is an outreach-focused position that requires proactive engagement, relationship building, and digital recruitment strategies.

- The Community Manager, to ensure smooth onboarding of participants into the community platform post-recruitment.
- Relevant content and comms consultants to coordinate timing and placement of outreach assets
- Other NetHope team members involved in program delivery, performance tracking, and digital strategy execution.
Scope of Work
Audience Acquisition Strategy & Execution
- Develop and implement an audience acquisition strategy tailored to each initiative, with clear tactics and weekly execution targets.
- Identify, segment, and prioritize nonprofit audiences using internal and external network mapping.
- Design and manage digital outreach campaigns across platforms including LinkedIn, TechSoup, ICTWorks, and relevant nonprofit forums.
- Customize outreach messaging based on target personas and value propositions, addressing stakeholder needs with empathy and clarity.
- Clearly articulate the benefits of participating in each initiative to prospective individuals and organizations.
- Lead direct outreach to key participants via email, messaging platforms, and social media, with the goal of achieving weekly sign-up goals.
Campaign Monitoring & Optimization
- Track acquisition and engagement metrics using analytics tools and dashboards.
- Adjust targeting, messaging, and channel strategies in real-time based on performance.
- Provide weekly updates on performance metrics and audience engagement trends.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure participant-facing materials are up to date, aligned with initiative goals, and optimized for recruitment purposes.
Platform Coordination
- Coordinate with the Programs, Membership, and Communications teams to time outreach campaigns with platform updates, content releases, and internal announcements.
- Work alongside the Community Manager to ensure smooth hand-off of recruited participants for onboarding and engagement.
Content & Asset Utilization
- Leverage communications assets (email templates, one-pagers, social posts) developed by other NetHope consultants and designers.
- Place and promote recruitment content on social media, relevant websites, email newsletters, and partner platforms.
- Provide feedback to communications and design teams to improve future outreach assets based on field experience.
Deliverables:
- A detailed outreach and audience acquisition plan (Week 1)
- Outreach calendar and contact list for both initiatives (Week 1–2)
- The minimum number of participant sign-ups met per project
- Weekly progress reports on outreach and recruitment metrics
- Final summary report with insights and recommendations for future outreach
Qualifications:
Required:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in outreach, audience acquisition, or community recruitment, preferably in nonprofit, digital learning, or campaign settings.
- Demonstrated success in placing and promoting content and ads across digital platforms.
- Strong analytical skills and experience using data to track outreach performance, interpret results, and pivot strategy accordingly.
- Experience working across time zones and within cross-functional virtual teams.
- Ability to create audience-specific value propositions and persuasive outreach messages.
- Strong project management, documentation, and reporting skills.
- Self-starter with a collaborative approach and ability to meet recruitment goals independently.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with nonprofit networks, online learning communities, or localization/global development themes.
- Experience using Salesforce, Asana, Airtable, or similar tools for CRM or campaign tracking.
- Prior experience working with NetHope Members or in a distributed NGO environment.
Project Timeline:
This is a remote, contractor position with an expected workload of up to 20 hours per week from June 16 – October 31, 2025. Additional hours should be anticipated during the start (June) and wrap-up (October) to transition campaign responsibilities and support continuity planning.
