PROFESSOR/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position of a Professor/Associate Professor in the Department of Theology & Religious Studies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Applicants should possess:

  • A Ph. D in Religious Studies.
  • University teaching experience of at least 10 years both the Undergraduate and Post-Graduate levels.
  • Proven track record of research and publishing in the areas of Religious Studies.
  • Must have at least 10 journal articles published in accredited journals.
  • Proven track record and extensive experience in community service.
  • Proven track record and extensive experience in management and leadership at academic institutions of higher learning.
  • Proven track record and extensive experience in mentorship of junior staff.
  • Proven track record of ability to source funds for research and conferencing.

Duties:
The successful applicant shall be expected to:

  • Teach courses at both undergraduate and post-graduate levels.
  • Carry out research and publication in the departmental and interdepartmental levels.
  • Supervise the undergraduate scientific research projects.
  • Supervise Ph.D. and M.A. Dissertations.
  • Contribute to the development of the Department, the Faculty of Humanities and the National University of Lesotho at large.
  • Engage in meaningful and productive community activities.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties appropriate to the post.
