Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
A candidate must have:
- A PhD in Environmental Education.
- Biology Education at Masters level, as an additional qualification.
- A proven record of research reflected by accredited journal articles, book chapters, conferences and seminar presentations in the relevant areas.
- A minimum experience of five (5) years of teaching courses in the required area in an institution of higher education; preferably on a full-time basis.
- A minimum experience of five (5) years of supervision in the required area in an institution of higher education.
- Supervision of a PhD in the relevant areas will be an added advantage.
- Experience of teaching Biology at high school level.
- A discernable potential/capacity to initiate projects and activities relevant to the teaching and learning of Environmental Education and Biology/Science Education.
- Applicants who are Associate Professors in Environmental Education may also be considered.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Professor will be responsible for the following:
- Design and develop programmes and courses;
- Teach at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels;
- Supervise research at postgraduate level (Masters & Doctoral);
- Supervise Teaching Practice;
- Conduct research and present relevant papers at national, regional and international conferences and forums;
- Undertake research and publish in the area of specialisation;
- Engage in community service;
- Diligently perform any other duties as shall be required by the Department and Faculty.
Remuneration:
The University offers salaries and benefits commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Employment type
Two (2) years contract for Locals and Non-Locals with a possibility of renewal.
