DEPARTMENT ANIMAL SCIENCE
The National University of Lesotho invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Associate Professor in Animal Science.
1. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
The applicant must have a minimum of PhD in Animal Breeding and Genetics.
Some teaching experience at university/tertiary level will be preferred.
Background of farmers’ participatory research will be an added advantage.
2. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
The successful appointee will be expected to:
Teach Animal Breeding, Genetics and Animal Production courses at undergraduate and post-graduate levels
Supervise BSc, MSc and PhD students
Initiate and /or participate in research and curriculum development.
Design and oversee Animal Science practicals (laboratory and farm) and do community services
Perform other duties, including administrative as would be required by the department and faculty.
Applicant is expected to have knowledge of advanced Learning Management Systems (LMS).
3. TYPE OF CONTRACT:
The appointment will be on permanent and pensionable terms for locals and contract/gratuitable for non-locals subject to completion of probation.
