If you are passionate about exploring how the digital economy can drive prosperity and support global growth, we have an outstanding opportunity for an Assistant Research Officer in our Commonwealth Connectivity Agenda Section.

Reporting to the Head of Section, the successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking timely and accurate collection and analysis of data on the topics being explored under the Connectivity Agenda, such as digital trade, infrastructure, regulatory policy, agriculture, and fisheries trade.

Other responsibilities entailed in this role include (but are not limited to):

  • Mainstreaming inclusivity, focussed on women and youth, and sustainability, focussed on the blue and green economies, into research conducted.
  • Supporting the development of toolkits, training materials, presentations, manuals, guidelines and other policy tools.
  • Facilitating the exchange of information and the sharing of knowledge and best practice through the Connectivity Delegates Portal.
  • Providing administrative support for meetings and events organised by the Section such as Cluster Week and the Commonwealth Trade Ministers Meeting.

To be considered you must have a degree in economics, law, international trade or a relevant discipline, and at least one year of professional experience in the areas related to the work of the Section. Candidates who have obtained a relevant post-graduate qualification will have an added advantage.
