The Lesotho College of Education (LCE) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Registrar – Administration vacant at Maseru campus.   3. JOB SUMMARY


Under the supervision of the Registrar, the Assistant Registrar (Administration) is responsible for facilitating and managing all the processes related to admission, creating, maintaining, updating and processing college records in the registry which include records of student admissions and registration. He/she is also responsible for making statistical compilations, supporting communication of information and preparations for writing of examination, and supervising Registry staff as well as supervising Registry staff.

MAIN DUTIES
a) Develops and improves mechanisms/system of record-keeping/storage and management in the registry.
b) Ensures proper storage and maintenance of all College Students records, registers and files to facilitate easy access as and when required.
c) Ensures that applications, information to applicants and related documents are prepared in time and communicated to prospective students using a variety of communication platforms available to the College.
d) Ensures that admission policy, rules and regulations are strictly adhered to by all parties involved in the admission process.
e) Prepares and provides documents required for student registration and provides such information to students and College offices engage in student registration.
f) Communicates with all admitted students on matters related to their admission, registration, and prepare and submit admission lists/documents to relevant external bodies in line with agreed protocols, procedures and deadlines.
g) Ensures that examination venues are prepared for writing examinations and are conducive for students and other users to work/write comfortably.
h) Supervises and supports Registry staff and Secretaries.
i) Assists the Registrar in the communication of information to the College community and external stakeholders and clients.
j) Compiles College statistical reports for use by College management, staff and external stakeholders Assists in Graduation preparations.
k) In consultation with the Registrar, develops relevant policies that will assist the functions of the registry.

  1. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
    • At least Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Business/Public Administration with at least three (3) years relevant experience at a tertiary institution.
    • The applicant must possess a strong statistical component, must have experience in management and creation of records.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
• Knowledge of statistical computations.
• Good record-keeping skills.
• Good knowledge of MS office package (Particularly MS- Excel and MS -Access).
• People management skills.
• Knowledge of programming would be an added advantage.
