Position: Assistant Lecturer – French

Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Head of Department, the Lecturer teaches teacher-trainees in his/her subject of specialization.
In addition, he/she is expected to take an active part in the upgrading and strengthening of all the activities of the Department, and to participate in other professional activities of the College.
Job Purpose
To deliver teaching, learning, assessment, student consultation and academic development under the direction of the department.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Participates in planning and review of College programmes and curricula and quality assurance activities.
- Teaches students in all College programmes.
- Assists in teaching undergraduate courses, including tutorials, practicals and invigilation.
- Course material development and classroom management.
- Supports research and scholarly activities.
- Participates in professional and academic development activities.
- Maintains accurate records of assigned academic activities.
- Supports senior staff in implementing community engagement programmes.
- Assists in preparation of teaching schedules, examination scripts, and records.
- Conducts tutorial and remedial sessions.
- Undertakes other duties assigned by the Head of Department.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
Option 1:
- Master’s Degree in Education or relevant field and at least three (3) years’ teaching experience at basic education level.
OR
Option 2:
- Honours / Degree with an excellent academic record and enrolled into a Master’s Degree.
- At least five (5) years’ teaching experience at basic education level.
Added Advantage
- Sign Language.
- Experience with Open Distance Learning.
- Training in-service teachers.
