Botho University, Lesotho Campus, invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Assistant General Maintenance Handyman. The role is responsible for the routine upkeep, repair, and safety of building structures, fixtures, plumbing, and basic electrical systems across all University buildings.
Minimum Qualification:
- Certificate or equivalent qualification in General Maintenance, Plumbing, Carpentry, Electrical Work, or a related field.
- At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general maintenance, repair, and replacement of fixtures, tiles, windows, doors, and furniture.
- Attend to plumbing issues including leakages, blockages, and water meter readings.
- Conduct minor electrical repairs such as replacing bulbs, switches, and socket faceplates.
- Mount and secure fixtures such as pin boards, whiteboards, and shelving units.
- Ensure all maintenance work complies with Occupational Health and Safety standards.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by management.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Sound knowledge of general maintenance and repair techniques.
- Understanding of Occupational Health and Safety standards.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and ability to deliver results within set timelines.
- Vigilant and proactive approach to identifying and resolving maintenance issues.
