Assistant Fuel Depot Controller

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
To carry out all duties for effective fuel management at all depots, oversee the fuel depot operations, stock management, fuel depot maintenance, fuel management system and effective reporting.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & RELATED EXPERIENCE:
• BSc Chemical Engineering / BSc Biotechnology / BSc Chemical Technology / BSc Biochemistry or Equivalent
• Ensure that depot operations are adequately staffed, and roles and responsibilities are defined
• 5 Years’ Related Experience
• 5 Years’ Experience on inventory software systems
• 5 Years’ Stores/Warehouse experience
• 2 Years’ Experience on Sage application is preferred
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
• Fuel ordering
• Daily Diesel consumption Report
• Machinery hourly tracker Report.
• Diesel Management system monitoring
• Daily Dips recording
• Timely Deliveries to site
• Diesel Management Software updates to PC’s
• Coordinate and facilitate depots maintenance schedules – including maintenance of controllers, nozzle equipment, hoses
• Ensure monthly schedule of fuel deliveries is adhered to and stock kept at required levels as per contract (holding and re-ordering)
• Verification of deliveries from supplier
• Ensure accurate accounting and reporting of fuel stocks from ordering to dispensing
• Produce daily and monthly reconciliations, ensuring variances are immediately investigated and corrected
• Produce monthly departmental diesel consumption reports
• Manage and maintain vehicle list of all vehicles refueling at diesel depots
• General System health
• Ensure that depot operations are adequately staffed, and roles and responsibilities are defined
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel or relevant diesel management system
• In-depth understanding of business diesel procedures
• Solid knowledge of petroleum regulations
• Excellent math skills with an attention to detail
• Proven work experience as a Fuel Depot Controller or similar role
• Time-management abilities
