Assistant Finance Officer Internship

We are seeking a diligent and enthusiastic Assistant Finance Officer Intern to support our Finance Department. This internship offers hands-on experience in financial operations, allowing you to apply your academic knowledge to real-world scenarios and learn about modern financial practices. Qualifications:
– Recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
– Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and financial practices gained through relevant coursework.
– Strong academic record and a passion for a career in finance; pursuing professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA) is an advantage.
– Prior internship or work experience in a finance or accounting role is a plus, but not required.
Responsibilities:
– Assist in preparing and analyzing budgets, including running financial reports to ensure budget allocations align with organizational goals.
– Support the finance team in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports by collecting, verifying, and organizing financial data.
– Update and maintain financial records, including daily transaction logs and bank reconciliations, to ensure accuracy and proper record-keeping.
– Process invoices and support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including verifying billing details and following up with clients or suppliers as needed.
– Aid in payroll preparation and expense tracking, ensuring all transactions are recorded correctly and authorized by the appropriate personnel.
– Provide support during internal audits by organizing financial documents and verifying records to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
– Participate in special financial projects and perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the finance team’s objectives.
Required Skills:
– Strong analytical and numerical aptitude; able to interpret data and identify trends.
– Keen attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
– Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., creating spreadsheets, using formulas and financial functions) and familiarity with other MS Office applications.
– Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero or similar ERP systems) is preferred but not mandatory.
– Excellent organizational and time management skills; able to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
– Effective communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable working collaboratively in a team environment.
– High level of integrity and professionalism when handling sensitive financial information.
