POSITION TITLE : ASSISTANT FINANCE OFFICER
GRADE : F
REPORT TO : FINANCE OFFICER
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Under the general supervision of the Finance Officer, the incumbent is responsible for maintaining accounting records, processing payments, collecting revenues and banking revenue and trust monies.
MAIN DUTIES
- To prepare and process payments
- Enters invoice details into the system
- Processes payment voucher
- Attaches supporting documents to vouchers
- Generates payments
- Submits payment voucher and payment list
- Records payment made
- Collects and registers cheques
- Process payment adjustments
- To collect revenue and trust monies
- Receives revenue and trust monies
- Issues receipts for cash received
- Prepares collector’s statements
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education and Training
Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting), or Bachelor of Accounting, or recognized equivalent accounting degree.
OR
General Accountant, or CIPFA Diploma, or recognized equivalent professional accounting qualification plus three (3) years relevant working experience.
Knowledge of ACCPAC Accounting Package will be an added advantage.
