The Office of the Auditor-General (OAG) is an independent and autonomous body and is the Supreme Audit Institution in Lesotho. OAG is responsible for auditing government revenue and spending and to oversee the management of public funds and the quality and credibility of government’s reported financial data.

OAG invites applications from suitably qualified local candidates for the following positions:

JOB TITLE  :   ASSISTANT DATABASE & WEB DEVELOPER

RESPONSIBLE TO  :  IT SUPPORT & DATABASE OFFICER

CORE DESCRIPTION

To provide responsive, high-quality service delivery of ICT support in OAG through  maintenance  and  repair  of  computer  systems;  and  to  provide  a seamless flow of information throughout the OAG, considering both backend data structure and frontend.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

•     Investigates and repairs ICT Department’s applications and desktop Operating Systems.

•     Provides support and guidance on the effective use of ICT hardware, including laptops, Personal Computers and mobile devices

•     Provides technical support in the preparation of all reports (through data processing or data analysis)

•     Ensures  that  all  support  calls  are  answered  within  the  appropriate

timescales and either dealt with or passed through to the appropriate team member.

•     Provides support, technical guidance and training to the ICT support officers.

•     Ensures that support calls are logged on the organisation’s support desk Software.

•     Verifies that ICT department’s procedures are followed and adhered to.

•     Ensures that up-to-date files are maintained, both electronically and in paper form.

•     Performs accurate filing of all processed documents, monthly consolidated filing of key project documents.

•     Evaluates and recommends new development tools for use within the systems development and database environments.

•     Define users and enable data distribution to the right user, in appropriate format and in a timely manner

QUALIFICATIONS

•    Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science or
     Software engineering from a recognised institution.
