The Office of the Auditor-General (OAG) is an independent Supreme Audit Institution in Lesotho. It is responsible for promoting accountability, transparency, and value for money in the use of public funds by providing quality audit services to improve the economic, efficient and effective service delivery to the citizens of Lesotho. OAG achieves this through audits, and reports on the Government of Lesotho’s Consolidated Fund and Public Stores, to provide an overall opinion on the accounts.
OAG invites applications from suitably qualified local candidates for the following positions:
JOB TITLE : ASSISTANT AUDITOR (PERFORMANCE AUDITS)
NO OF POSTS : 3
RESPONSIBLE TO: AUDITOR CORE
DESCRIPTION Under the close supervision of the Auditor, the incumbent is responsible for providing back-up support in the collection and documentation of data.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
a) Participates in the preparation of interview guides
b) Actively takes notes during the interviews
c) Participates in the collection of primary/secondary data from different sources relevant to the assignment
d) Assists the Auditor to compile collected data
e) Files documents collected during area watching.
f) Compiles simple pre-audit briefs as requested by the auditor
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Economics/Statistics plus one (1) year working experience.
