Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position of assistant educational secretary tenable in the Teaching Service in ACL Schools’ Secretariat.

JOB TITLE: ASSISTANT- ACL EDUCATIONAL SECRETARY

NO. OF POSITIONS: 1

NATURE OF CONTRACT: PERMANENT

RESPONSIBLE TO: ACL EDUCATIONAL SECRETARY

  1. JOB DESCRIPTION
  2. Develop and maintain consistent communication with schools;
  3. Collect and analyse data on school performance;
  4. Is in charge of all records and documents secured in the registry;
  5. control of school establishment lists and statistical records and ensure that they are up to date;
  6. Ensure that management structures in all schools are in place;
  7. Recommend training of leadership based on the needs/findings identified;
  8. Advocate for implementation of Education policies as well as the Church vision in schools;
  9. Visit schools to monitor the implementation of training and policy issues;
  10. Visit schools to monitor academic performance and curriculum implementation;
  11. Record the minutes of Office staff meetings;
  12. Contribute towards strategic decision-making;
  13. Provide periodic reports to Educational Secretary on the performance of schools and implementation of policies;
  14. Based on the reports about schools, recommend interventions to the Educational Secretary;
  15. Ensure the smooth running of services to clients;
  16. Ensure that proper planning, recording and reporting of finances occur;
  17. Help schools to straighten out their accounting systems;
  18. Manage and coordinate the activities of the staff ; and
  19. Deputise the Educational Secretary whenever the Educational Secretary is absent.
  • KEY COMPETENCIES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge and experience in educational administration and supervision in educational institutions. Human relation skills and ability to get along and work well with people. High degree of emotional maturity and stability. Computer literacy and a valid driver’s licence will be an added advantage

  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

B.Ed. or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years working in a leadership position in an educational institution.
