Tugela Mill
Artisan Aide ( Grade 14 )
Sappi Tugela Mill requires Artisan Aides to assist with installation, repair and maintenance of plant and equipment of the designated area according to engineering specifications and safety standards.
This role reports in to the Engineering Manager.
The main responsibilities of this job are:
- Ensures test equipment is well maintained
- Carries out planned maintenance and preventative maintenance schedules to required standards
- Reports unsafe conditions and acts to appropriate management level
- Attends training courses as and when required
- Assists artisan with installation, repair and maintenance of plant and equipment
- Notifies Foreman of changes to plant to enable plant history to be maintained
- Diagnoses, fault finds and repairs equipment failures maximize plant availability
- Attends Health and Safety meetings
- Participates in Shift base Unit teams
- Modifies existing plant as required
- Collects Bill of material information
- Overhauls rotable equipment
- Submits suggestions for improvements in his sphere of operations
- Carries out reasonable tasks and instructions given by line management
- ENSURES, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLIANCE
- Investigates incidents (SHEQ) and identify root causes of Non-Conformances and corrects deviations.
- Understands the SHEQ requirements of the Section
- Maintains a high level of good housekeeping in the workplace at all time
The id eal candidate should have :
- Matric & N2 Engineering (N3 Desirable)
- Two years’ experience in a heavy Engineering Environment.
