Area Sales Supervisor


The purpose of this role is to oversee the duties of the roaming Sales Representatives as well as canvas and accurately sign up new customers in order to grow the Mukuru customer base.

The Area Sales Supervisor reports directly to the Regional Sales Supervisor. The Sales Representatives and Information Officers report directly to this position.

This position is responsible for ensuring that all consultants have all the information and documents they need in order to promote Mukuru services and sign up new customers. They are also responsible for making contact with potential customers and signing them up for the Mukuru services on the Mukuru app. The successful candidate will also be responsible for accurately capturing customer details as well capturing FICA required documentation and photos. The Area Sales Supervisor is not based at any specific location.

Internal Liaison takes place with all Agent Support Consultants. External liaison takes place customers.

Duties and Responsibilities(include but not limited to):

  • Oversee the actions of the assigned Sales Representative team
  • Provide advice and guidance to all Consultants
  • Obtain and monitor sales stats provided from Head Office
  • Motivate all staff to work towards sales targets
  • Recruit and train all new Consultants for the area when needed
  • Arrange and oversee promotions taking place in the area
  • Develop awareness of the Mukuru brand and services
  • Hand out flyers and pamphlets with information regarding Mukuru services
  • Explain to potential customers what Mukuru does and how transfer work
  • Provide potential customers with the various locations where money can be sent
  • Uphold and professionally promote the Mukuru brand
  • Investigate potential new locations for info centers
  • Issue customers with new Mukuru cards
  • Provide assistance to customers who require Mukuru cards
  • Issue cards to customers by verifying their details and linking the card to their profile
  • Manage and forward any card related queries by liaising with the relevant head office team
  • Sign up new customers on the Mukuru app
  • Ensure all required regulations are adhered to
  • Provide assistance to customers who have queries
  • Check-in with the Regional Sales Supervisor daily
  • Liaise with the Marketing Department to notify if more flyers/pamphlets are required
  • Provide assistance to Sales Reps with regards to queries or training needed

Key Requirements:

  • Grade 12 / or equivalent (Desirable)
  • Understanding and speaking of Sesotho/other relevant language (Essential)
  • Valid drivers license (Essential)
  • 1 year’s Mukuru Independent Sales Representative experience (Essential)
  • Knowledge of Mukuru products and services
  • Knowledge of FICA and CPA regulations
