Purpose of the Position:

Responsible for providing operational and administrative oversight and management to the AP including resources and internal stakeholders (staff) as well as engagement with AP support structures both within and outside the AP, for the overall performance of the AP.

Provide full technical support and oversight in the planning, execution and monitoring of the WASH Program within the identified AP, with a focus on improved access to WASH practices. The position is responsible for profiling World Vision Lesotho in all relevant sector networks and technical working groups at AP level. The incumbent is the primary technical contact for the Organization in matters relating to the WASH Program at AP level.

Lead, Manage and facilitate the participation of all stakeholders in the AP in collaboration with other TPs coordinators, SACD Coordinators, communities, and children in the execution of the AP Plan, while building within them the culture of learning and responsibility for project’s sustainability.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Program Management and Reporting 35%

Produce quality Activity, Monthly, Impacts, Semi-annual and Annual reports.

2.Program Development and Grants Acquisition 15%

Have new Projects responding to community needs

3.Networking, Liaison and Advocacy 20%

Work with relevant stakeholders to achieve organizational mandate

4. People Management and Capacity Building; 15%

Performance annual plans/appraisals produced. Well capacitated staff members who able to execute the roles and responsibilities accordingly.

5. Conduct continuous monitoring 15%

Good lessons and practices documented and shared with relevant stakeholders.

 

Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience

The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:

Degree in Public/Environmental Health or other related field with 5 years International Non-Governmental work experience

A minimum of three years proven experience and skill in management of WASH projects design and implementation

Must have 5 years International Non-Governmental Organisation work experience

Should have leadership and team work building skills

Should have project management and design experience as well as implementation, monitoring and evaluation skills

Should have excellent interpersonal, organizational , time management , leadership and management abilities

Should have a strong English and Sesotho communications skills(oral and written)

Should have a strong detail orientation and negotiation skills.

 

Additional work experience preferred for this position

Capacity to function well in a team and contribute effectively to team efforts

Proven networking abilities at local and international levels

Must be a committed Christian

Should have commitment and ability to inspire others to World Vision Core Values and Mission Statement

 

Preferred skills, knowledge and experience

Computer literate in word, excel , power point.

Experience in working with various major donors and government donor agencies.

Must have the ability to empower community to be able to sustain their household members especially children.

This position is contract based for a duration of one year.
