Position : Applications Developer
Department : Technical
Reports To : Applications Manager
Main Purpose:
To analyse, design, develop, implement, maintain and support ETL application systems.
Major Tasks:
• Designs, develops, and unit test applications in accordance with established standards, policies and systems requirements.
• Assists in the collection and documentation of user’s requirements, development of user stories, and estimates.
• Tests and modifies systems to ensure that they operate reliably.
• Develops integration plans between key systems and partners conforming to software development best practises and latest technologies.
• Adheres to high-quality development principles while delivering solutions on-time and on-budget.
• Establishes a secure integration infrastructure to protect sensitive business information.
• Evaluates integration infrastructure and recommends improvements where necessary.
• Develops patches to fix identified malfunctions in line with software fix packs.
• Participates in peer-reviews of solution designs and related code.
• Prepares reports, manuals and other documentation on the status, operation and maintenance of software.
• Provides third-level support to business users.
Educational Qualifications and Related Experience:
• Degree in Computer Science of equivalent.
• 2 to 3 years’ experience in Information Technology
• Knowledge of applications development, information systems Controls and systems security.
• Experience in Telecommunications.
Performance Contract:
• Successful candidate shall be on three months’ probation period and if successful will sign an annual performance contract; the results thereof shall form the basis of the continued existence of substantive contract.
