The bi-national Lesotho Highlands Water Project (LHWP), of the Kingdom of Lesotho (KOL) and the Republic of South Africa (RSA) is aimed at harnessing the water resources of the highlands of Lesotho for the mutual advantage of Lesotho and the Republic of South Africa.
The Lesotho Highlands Development Authority (LHDA) was set up to implement and operate that part of the LHWP that falls within the borders of Lesotho. LHDA is to embark on Phase II of the Lesotho Highlands Water Project (LHWP), a multi-billion-rand Phase involving large-scale civil engineering and socio-environmental aspects. In ensuring that it achieves its mandate, the LHDA places emphasis on its values of caring, professionalism, execution, team work, communication and customer focus.

POSITION/LOCATION
Agriculture Officer – Livestock HR/AOL/14A/01/04/21 (on five (5) years contract)
SUMMARY JOB PURPOSE
To supervise and implement livestock farming programs in line with the LHWP Phase II ICM Strategy and in consultation with relevant stakeholders to ensure acceptance and success of the programs. To intensify extension services for livestock production within the Polihali catchment To promote diversification of livelihoods options for the communities in order to reduce their dependency on natural resources.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor of Science in Animal Science or Agriculture with at least five (5) years’ experience in animal production related field. Postgraduate Degree in Animal Science or Agriculture with at least three (3) years’ experience will be an added advantage.
