The African Book Club: SDGs Essay Writing Competition Awards

The African Book Club together with Selibeng.com and Nurture in Literacy hosted an awards event on the 16th Jan 2018, to award winners of the The African Book Club SDGs Essay Writing Competition.

The competition ran from the 7th to 22nd December 2017 where three winners were to walk away with a tablet, kindle, and a 3book hamper; with M200 attached to every award.

The awards were conferred by Sethunya Mokoko Gall, a Professor of English and the Non-Fiction Senior Editor of the literary journal at California State University, Long Beach. He is the director of Nurture in Literacy and also headed the competition’s panel.

The essays had to address three main areas; Lesotho in 2030 in the context of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), what the main challenges regarding the implementation of the SDGs in Lesotho are and how best we can address those challenges.

 

The three competition winners were:

1st Prize: ‘Mampolokeng Maeka – Tablet + M200

2nd Prize: ‘Mafumane Jane – Kindle + M200

3rd Prize: Mokitimi Ts’osane – 3 Book Hamper + M200
