DEPARTMENT : MOSHOESHOE 1 AIRPORT
POSITION : AERODROME FIREMAN
GRADE : C
RESPONSIBLE TO : LEADING FIREMAN
NO. OF POSTS : ONE (1)
MAIN DUTIES:
1. Creates and protects the rescue path for rescue of passengers.
2. Applies first aid to casualties to safe life.
3. Transfers casualties to the medical team for further treatment
4. Extinguishes fire to salvage property.
5. Inspects Airfield and Runway to observe and remove foreign objects.
6. Inspects Airfield lights to ensure proper functioning.
7. Lays portable obstruction lights to inform pilots of unusable runways and / or part thereof.
8. Cleans fire parking bays and fire engines to maintain tidiness.
9. Cleans ancillary equipment such as fire hoses, nozzles, Jaws of Life and breathing apparatus to prevent rust and mildew.
10. Receives emergency calls and reports to officer-in-charge.
11. Records station activities on the occurrence book for reference.
12. Completes daily inspection sheet for leading fireman to take action ere need be.
13. Drives and operates fire engines.
• COSC or GCE plus a valid heavy duty driver’s license.
• Standard pass from Accident Enquiry Board.
• Basic knowledge of first aid will be an added advantage
OR
COSC/GCE/LGSCE plus a minimum of four (4) years’ experience in the field of Aviation Security as Airport Security Officer.
