We have an outstanding opportunity for an Adviser – Infrastructure & Architecture

within our Strategy, Portfolio, Partnerships and Digital Division (SPPD).

Reporting to the Head, ICT, the post holder will have specific responsibility for providing a 3rd line support and advisory services on ICT Infrastructure and is responsible for overall day-to-day system configuration, administration, and monitoring of ICT Infrastructure.
The job combines requirements for in depth IT knowledge, good understanding of virtualisation, cloud platforms, ability to prioritise and allocate resource appropriately and excellent written and communications skills. The post holder is required to be on-site at the Secretariat’s Offices in London with occasional travel.

Responsibilities of the Adviser – Infrastructure & Architecture

The Adviser – Infrastructure & Architecture is expected, among other responsibilities, to:

  • Is responsible for overall system availability and develops a resilient technical architecture to reduce failures.
  • Provides advice on new acquisitions of ICT infrastructure in line with the Enterprise Architecture and IT Policy.
  • Monitors and evaluates the efficiency and effectiveness of infrastructure service delivery methods and procedures.
  • Undertakes Infrastructure Capacity Planning and ensures the maintenance of the required environment conditions in collaboration with Facilities Management.
  • Supervises a small team and ensures that the Infrastructure and Architecture team meets agreed Key Performance Indicators.

To be considered, applicants must meet the following criteria;

  • A relevant post graduate degree in Information Technology (IT) or related disciplined and a certification in Network/Infrastructure Management.
  • Project Management certification.
  • You must have at least seven years’ experience in a mid to large sized IT Department and at least five years’ experience managing an infrastructure support team.
  • You must have in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows Serve, Active Directory (Design, Security and Administration), MS Azure and AWS and Enterprise Architecture frameworks.
  • Good understanding of hybrid environments, VMWare 5/Hyper V and IT security and Data protection.
  • You must have strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate across a broad spectrum of users.
