With 12+ years’ of legal practice at a senior level, covering at least three of: public international law; constitutional law, administrative law; public international law and electoral law you are ready to lead our newly formed Law Development Section.

This is a crucial role, supporting the development efforts of member countries as they strive for more effective, efficient and equitable governance. You will be focused on coordinating the Section’s work on judicial reform, separation of powers, legislative support, law reform, public and private international law, emerging areas of law pertaining to economic opportunity and sustainability and international humanitarian law.

This will involve you in achieving results that meet our strategic plan; managing the advisory services and technical assistance; supervising, mentoring and developing your team of professionals; managing a portfolio of projects; and delivering legal and policy advice and development as well as facilitating research.

A first law degree from a Commonwealth jurisdiction and a postgraduate law degree, is essential and you must be a citizen of a Commonwealth country.
