ADMINISTRATOR DISTRIBUTION & LOGISTICS (MB Vans)

Objective of the job:

Mercedes-Benz SA Vans division is looking for an Administration for to administer the MB Vans Distribution & Logistics process. The incumbent will monitor various overseas and local suppliers and systems. Ensure the effective logistics flow of all MB Vans from point of origin to delivery at the dealer, incorporating effective supplier measurement and management in compliance with the Company’s Integrity Code and inform superior of deviations.

Main Tasks:

Factory Ordering and local option maintenance. Administration of the factory ordering of all MB Vans vehicles upon receipt of signed and approved order sheet. Placing orders, which transmit, to the overseas factory to ensure the pipeline of Vans is maintained.

Order book Management. The administration of the Vans order book from factory order placement to delivery to dealer. To ensure the specifications of the Vans are as per the order sheet. To manage the process flow of Vans from factory to dealer.

Customer delivery dates. To monitor and administrate the accuracy of the calculated customer delivery date (planned delivery date) in order to ensure optimal customer satisfaction. This includes the interaction with the overseas plant.

Shipping. To ensure all Vans are shipped and cleared according to their production dates and in line with South African Revenue Service’s requirements. To communicate with clearing agents in order to provide the correct and required documentation.

Ad-hoc logistics. To support the Vans division with any additional logistics support. To co-ordinate the process of ordering, allocating and delivering Vans for diplomat and disabled customers.

Supplier Coordination. Administration of all supplier contracts, performance and cost within the parameters laid out in MBSA’s purchasing policy. To create orders for monthly service delivery by suppliers. To interact with the eNatis licensing department.

Distribution policy adherence. Administration of all transactions in adherence to the New Business Model for X-Class & V-Class and to the Distribution Policy for Sprinter & Vito.

Land Transportation. To ensure that vans are delivered to dealers by the locally appointed suppliers, within contractually specified lead times. To report on in-transit units to align the business during month-end periods. To administrate transport billing.

MB Vans product knowledge would be advantageous

Experience:

2-3 years’ hands on experience in Logistics/Supply chain or a relevant field (automotive industry will be advantageous).
