Wool and Mohair Value Chain Competitiveness Project
The Government of the Kingdom of Lesotho through the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Nutrition (MAFSN) has just started implementation of the Wool and Mohair Value Chain Competitiveness Project (WaMCoP), which is a 7 years project that covers the 10 districts of Lesotho. The project is financed by the Government of Lesotho, International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), OPEC Fund for International Development, Global Environment Facility and beneficiary’s contributions. The projects overall goal is to increase the economic and climate resilience of wool and mohair value chain stakeholders, with emphasis on wool and mohair farmers’ livelihoods, including women and youth. The MAFSN has established the key positions of the project coordination unit and would like to make a call to the relevant professionals for the following additional positions:
Position: Administration Officer
Report to: Finance Manager
Duty Station: Maseru
Job summary:
- Under the direct supervision of Finance Manager, the Administration Officer will provide logistical support for the smooth running of the day to day operations of the project and will act as the point of contact for all employees, providing administrative support and managing their employment contracts in liaison with MAFSN Director Human Resources. The incumbent will manage office stock, preparing regular reports. He/she will also be responsible for updating administrative policies.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage office supplies stock and raise administrative requisitions
- Prepare regular reports on usage of office supplies to inform management decisions Maintain and update asset register and inventory
- Implement project asset maintenance plan and compile reports on matters relating to their maintenance
- Consolidate reports regarding accidents and loss of project property
- Organize an advanced filing system for important and confidential project documents
- Address queries by employees and clients
- Update administrative policies as needed
- Lead logistical preparations and management of project events and meetings
- Manage circulation of external and internal correspondence (e.g. letters, emails and packages)
- Organise transport in liaison with project staff
- Ensure appropriate utilisation of project assets (vehicles etc.) as well as ensuring vehicle records are well maintained
- Supervision of office support (Cleaners, Gardner and Drivers
Required Qualification and Experience
Bachelor`s Degree in Business Administration/ Business Management/Public Administration, A minimum of five (5) years of relevant and practical experience in an administrative role.

Mode and Duration of Contract
The duration of the assignment will be three years, renewable depending on satisfactory performance.
