Overview:

KARABO EA BOPHELO at Baylor College of Medicine Children’s Foundation – Lesotho. The Baylor College of Medicine Children’s Foundation – Lesotho (BCMCFL), is the result of a public-private partnership between Baylor College of Medicine International Pediatric AIDS Initiative and the Government of Lesotho, and is a legal, non-profit/tax exempt organization registered in Lesotho. BCMCFL provides free pediatric and family-centred HIV and tuberculosis prevention, care, treatment and support, serving thousands of children and families affected by HIV, TB, or other child health conditions. Karabo ea Bophelo (KB) is a five-year USAID-funded activity to prevent new HIV infections and reduce vulnerability among orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) and adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) in Lesotho. These positions are based in any of KB supported districts.

BCMCFL-KB is looking for highly qualified candidates to fill in the following positions on a full-time, Fixed-Term Contract basis for the duration of four years:

Duties and Responsibilities

Position Overview

The Administration Manager reports directly to Finance and Administration Director. S/he will oversee the general operations of the KB’s facilities and personnel including transportation, security and supervise day-today operations of the administration department and staff members, including performance appraisals in accordance with KB’s Performance Management System. The position is based in Maseru.

Educational Qualifications, Work Experience and Key Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management or related field with 5 years’ experience, two years being in a Senior Management position
  • Or Advanced degree with 3 years’ experience
  • Senior Management or leadership experience in administration or a related field, with exceptional leadership and time, task and resource management skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computers particularly Microsoft Office applications
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Familiarity with budget planning and enforcement, human resources and customer service procedures
  • Willingness to continue building skills through educational opportunities
  • Demonstrated experience in USG and other donors’ HR principles, practices, rules and regulations and apply these in program decision-making
  • Demonstrate record of accurate and on-time reporting to donor agencies
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a department and supervising a team
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft applications and experience in using commercially available HRM software programs
