We have vacancies for two Actuarial Analysts. In this role, the candidates will be involved in the IFRS 17 transition & valuations related work &reporting. It is an excellent opportunity to develop in-depth IFRS 17 knowledge, work on the implementation & collaborate with various teams, while also contributing to the actuarial & business needs, & providing data, analytical support & recommendations in a timely manner. The positions report to the Actuarial and Investments Technical department.
Required Qualification, Experience and Competencies
- Must possess a bachelor’s degree in actuarial/mathematics related degree or have minimum 4 Actuarial exemptions
- Knowledge of the Financial Services Industry in Lesotho and SA.
- Working knowledge of Ms Excel, Ms ACCESS, SQL, and VBA
- Must demonstrate excellent skills in communication (verbal and written)
Key Responsibility Areas
IFRS 17 related data integrity and transformation
Develop actuarial processes, systems, and models
Actuarial model maintenance i.e. models are
accurate, up to date and well documented
Reinsurance Accounts
Experience investigations, analysis, monitoring, and valuation models assumption settings
New Business Analysis
Technical Support to other departments and Business Units
This is a 1 year fixed term contract
