Accounting Teacher at Thabure Remedial Centre

Thabure Remedial Centre is looking for an Accounting Teacher. The incumbent must be respectful, independent, hardworking and a self-starter.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • The employee will be responsible for conducting professional Accounting classes to the best of his or her ability.
  • Must be available to work per the stipulated time table
  • Must dress and conduct him/herself in an appropriately and suitable professional manner suitable for a school environment.
  • The employee may be required to work on Scheduled Public Holidays.
  • Must maintain student attendance records, grades and other required records.
  • Must undertake to evaluate the students continuously, the record of which must be kept and produced on demand by the relevant authority for the purposes of continuous assessment and for providing parents/guardian with progress report.
  • Must undertake to participate in all efforts to instil discipline in the students in order to maintain impeccable integrity of the Centre.
  • Must collaborate with colleagues to address teaching and research issues.
  • Must initiate, facilitate and moderate classroom discussions.
  • Must prepare course materials such as tests, homework assignments and hand-outs.
  • Must evaluate and grade students’ classwork, assignments and test papers.

Job Requirements

  •  Degree in Accounting or equivalent qualification, i.e. (BCom Accounting and/or Management Accounting)
  •  5-10 years’ relevant teaching experience
  •  Excellent teaching skills
  •  Strong analytical/problem-solving skills
  •  Strong communication skills
  •  Ability to perform under pressure
  •  Excellent computer literacy in Microsoft applications especially Excel Competencies
  •  Proactive
  •  Flexible
  •  Team Player
