Accountant
Location: Maseru, Lesotho
Comnet Lesotho, a dynamic and leading technology and business solutions company, invites applications from suitably qualified, competent, and results‑driven individuals for the position of Accountant. The successful candidate will play a critical role in strengthening financial governance, ensuring compliance, and supporting sound financial decision‑making within the organisation.
Role Overview
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the full spectrum of financial and accounting functions, including financial reporting, budgeting, cash‑flow management, statutory compliance, and internal controls. The role also entails supervising the Bookkeeper and ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of all financial information.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and management reports
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
- Oversee cash‑flow management and banking operations
- Ensure full compliance with tax and statutory obligations
- Implement and maintain strong internal financial controls
- Supervise and support the Bookkeeper
- Manage payroll processes and statutory submissions
- Support audits and liaise with auditors and regulators
- Provide strategic financial insights to management
- Safeguard company assets
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet one of the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a similar field with three (3) years’ experience,
OR - Diploma in a similar field with seven (7) years’ experience
Mandatory: Membership with the Lesotho Institute of Accountants (LIA)
Added Advantages
- ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or similar professional qualification
