We are looking for a results-driven and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team in Lesotho. The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting financial reporting and management decision-making, and ensuring compliance with applicable financial and statutory requirements.

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 3 years’ relevant accounting or finance experience.
- Sound knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, reconciliations, and financial controls.
- Knowledge and understanding of Lesotho tax legislation, statutory requirements, and regulatory compliance.
- Good computer literacy, particularly Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
- Strong analytical, numerical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- High level of integrity and ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and perform effectively under pressure.
- Ability to identify discrepancies, investigate variances, and recommend appropriate corrective action
Advantageous
- Professional accounting qualification or progress towards one, such as ACCA, CIMA, SAICA, or an equivalent qualification.
- Experience in management accounting, accounts payable and receivable, cash-flow management, financial analysis, and audit preparation.
- Experience in the agricultural, wool and mohair, commodity trading, or related environment.
- Experience working with ERP/accounting systems.
- Understanding of the commercial and financial aspects of the agricultural or commodity value chain.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Maintaining accurate and complete accounting records.
- Preparing and reviewing financial reports, reconciliations, and accounting schedules.
- Supporting month-end and year-end financial processes.
- Managing and monitoring accounts payable and receivable.
- Assisting with cash-flow management and forecasting.
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Investigating financial discrepancies and variances and recommending corrective action.
- Assisting with internal and external audit processes.
- Supporting compliance with Lesotho tax legislation, statutory requirements, and regulatory obligations.
- Maintaining effective financial controls and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Providing accurate and meaningful financial information to management.
- Working effectively with farmers, suppliers, service providers, auditors, financial institutions, regulators, and other stakeholders within the wool and mohair value chain.
