The successful applicant will work as a member of the Accounting Services team and will deal with the day-to-day duties of bookkeeping, accounting services and preparation of annual financial statements for the assigned portfolio of clients across Maitland offices.

Minimum Requirements
• BComm degree / CAT. Postgraduate accounting qualification and completed articles at an auditing firm would be an advantage or working towards a recognized accounting qualification;
• At least 5 months experience in auditing or accounting, ideally in the professional or financial services business.

Duties & Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to:
• Provide day-to-day bookkeping and accounting services to allocated clients for entities supporting the financial planning process, such as trusts, invetsment companies, property owing entities.
• Prepare monthly book-keeping to produce VAT reports
• Prepare management accounts, assisitng with statutory annual accounts in accordance with applicable accounting standards
• Knowledge of consolidation and IFRS and Draftworx would be an advantage;
• Preparation of tax retruns for corporate and trust clients only on-efiling
• Assist other team members and review their work where appropriate
• Carrying out, on a timely basis, all administrative tasks assigned by the Team Leader and Senior Manager
• Applying standard procedures to facilitate the rendering of quality services to clients in a consistent, effective and efficient manner and exercising quality control to ensure that all accounting reports conform to set standards;
• Assisting to ensure that clients’ files are organised, complete;
• Develop and maintain good relationships with clients and with other functions (e.g. administrators, lawyers, associates, etc.);
• Record all time spent accurately to facilitate invoicing and internal reporting;
• Provide assistance with various analysis and special projects, as required;
• Contribute to the achievement of the team’s Key Performance Indicators
• Identify and contribute to the mitigation of risks;
• Additional duties may be assigned from time to time, as required.
