Specification | Job Requirements •Degree in Accounting or equivalent qualification, i.e. (B Com Accounting and/or Management Accounting) •3-5 years’ relevant financial experience •Valid Driver’s Licence •Excellent administration skills •Strong analytical/problem-solving skills •Strong communication skills •Ability to perform under pressure •Excellent computer literacy in Microsoft applications especially Excel Competencies •Proactive •Flexible •Team Player KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS ROLE: Financial Systems Management oEstablish and maintain mechanisms for budgeting, financial controls, accounting, costing, reporting, treasury and funding. oMaintain the management information system Financial planning and reporting •Prepare departmental budgets against the business plans. •Compile monthly management accounts and quarterly projections in accordance with IFRS. •Provide accurate financial (including management accounts, budget, variance and sales) reports and schedules as required. Sound financial management •Verify bank and petty cash receipts and payments. •Verify suppliers’ claims, including creditor reconciliations, to effect payment. •Ensure compliance of all policies, procedures and systems to legislative, shareholder and statutory requirements. •Monitor adherence to financial systems and processes Other (Document management and preservation) •Ensure proper documentary evidence and authorisation of transactions. •Maintain a filing system with respect to accounting data, records, contracts and invoices. •Prepare month-end files. •Attend to queries. •Audit and audit planning. •Provide periodic reports and reconciliation supporting schedules as directed from time to time. |
