Job Purpose

  • To provide support to the Account Executive in servicing customers, attending to customer queries, providing credit administration support and identifying customer needs and refer accordingly
  • To support the Account Executive in meeting sales and service targets within their respective portfolios

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Contact customers, where necessary or refer to the applicable product owners to provide feedback or follow up on requirements from customers
  • Interact with customers to obtain and analyze financial material, (i.e., debtors lists, management accounts, cash flow budgets), in terms of agreed covenants (as required for portfolio management)
  • Cross-sell products and services re-actively and pass leads on to the Business Banker and Team Leader
  • Contribute to the achievement of sales budget, in terms of DTF ratio 0.6, products cross sell per client.
  • To provide an overall administrative and credit management responsibility for Commercial Banking/Public Sector and Chinese Markets
  • Accurately and efficiently collates and checks collateral documentation and mandates for banking facilities
  • Support Account Executive to resolve customer queries where necessary
  • Ensure that there are no dropping of results as a result of outstanding reviews
  • Monitors daily excesses to ensure that customer facilities are managed within the parameters set by Credit, as per Daily Referral and Excess report, auctioning daily.
  • Manages the credit limits (i.e. ensuring that limits are timeously renewed) (portfolio management)
  • Manages the timeous regularisation of facilities letters and conditions of approval
  • Ensures the timeous completion of all reviews and compliance with general banking credit policies and procedures
  • Ensure timeous disbursement of all new credit facilitiesE
  • Ensure that bad debt stays below 0.05% of Portfolio.
  • Management of 700 clients asset book value +/- M400million

Preferred Qualification and Experience

  • Degree in Finance, Acounting or equivalent
  • 3-5 Years experience in Business banking
  • Knowledge of Business banking credit process.
  • Knowledge of the banks’ products and services 

Knowledge/Technical Skills/Expertise

  1. Expert Segment and Group Company product/ service offerings
  2. Strategic planning models, principles and practices, including market segmentation models/ theory
  3. Understanding of business economics and the current business economic environment
  4. Financial Acumen: Financial Modelling capability, activity based costing, financial analysis (evaluating and identifying trends) and complex cash flow cycles (industry/ sector specific).
  5. Good knowledge of Business Banking transactional administration processes and procedures
  6. Experience as a Business Assistant to gain exposure to lending principles and customer servicing
