We are currently seeking a skilled Access Control Expert to join our team for a critical three-week project, with the potential for extension.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Access Control Expert with a proven track record in installing, maintaining, and managing access control systems. Specifically, we require an individual with at least one year of hands-on experience working within an Access Control environment and, crucially, demonstrated expertise with Impro Systems. Experience with face recognition, boom gates, guest gate, and intercom technology will be considered a significant advantage. This is a full-time, three-week project with the possibility of extension.
Key Responsibilities:
- Impro System Expertise:
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot Impro Systems access control solutions.
- Manage and maintain Impro System databases and user permissions.
- Conduct system diagnostics and repairs specific to Impro hardware and software.
- Installation and Configuration:
- Install and configure access control hardware, including card readers, biometric scanners, electronic locks, boom gates, guest gates, and intercom systems.
- Configure access control software to meet specific security requirements.
- System Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal system performance.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues promptly.
- Conduct regular system checks and updates.
- User Management:
- Manage user access rights, including issuing access cards and enrolling biometric data.
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date user records.
- Security Integration:
- Integrate access control systems with other security systems, such as CCTV and alarm systems.
- Monitoring and Auditing:
- Monitor access events and generate detailed reports.
- Maintain accurate access logs for security audits and compliance.
- Documentation and Compliance:
- Maintain detailed records of system configurations, maintenance, and changes.
- Ensure compliance with relevant security standards and regulations.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with IT teams, security personnel, and management.
Qualifications
· Access Control Management and Implementation skills
· Knowledge of IT security principles and practices
· Experience with access control systems and technologies
· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to work effectively in a team environment
· Relevant certification in IT security or access control is a plus
Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of one year of experience in an Access Control environment.
- Essential: Proven experience working with Impro Systems.
- Experience with face, biometric, recognition access control systems is a added advantage.
- Knowledge of cloud-based access control systems and IoT integration is a plus
- Strong understanding of access control hardware and software.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read and understand technical documentation.
- Relevant certification in access control and IT security
Project Details:
- Duration: Three weeks, with potential for extension.
- Availability: Full-time.
- Location: Maseru, Lesotho.

- Depth of experience in various card reader technologies and integration. (10 marks)
- Depth of experience in biometric/face recognition systems. (5 marks)
- Knowledge of cloud-based access control systems and IoT Integration. (5 marks)
- Demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. (5 marks)
- Experience with boom gates, guest gates and Intercom technology. (5 marks)

- Verification of experience with Impro Systems. (15 marks)
- Positive feedback on performance and expertise. (5 marks)

Note: The total evaluation will be out of 100 marks.
